Payment & Cancellation Policies

• Refund Policy for Early Termination: If your accommodation contract is terminated early (except under clause 6.6), a fair refund of pre-paid fees will be issued only if the vacancy is filled, and any deductions will account for the University’s losses. However, if the room remains unfilled, no refund will be provided due to the University's duty to safeguard its financial assets.

  Vacancy Filling and Replacement Policy: The University prioritizes filling already vacant rooms before assigning others to your vacated accommodation, and room exchanges by other students will not count as replacements for refund eligibility, as your departure still creates a financial loss.

• Payment Methods: You can pay fees online via Web Pay (excluding advanced rent) using your Essex login, PRID, and secure credentials, or through other options like UK bank transfer, in-person, or international payments.

  Advance Payment: For new post graduate students and returning undergraduates a GBP 250 advanced rent payment, deducted from your first term’s rent, is required during the acceptance process and refundable up to 60 days before your contract starts.
