What is the Work and Travel USA Program?
Work and Travel USA program is an initiative of the United States Government. This program allows foreign university students to travel and work within the United States for many months. Each year this program welcomes around 100,000 participants all of which are between the age of 18 to 30 years.
Each student who enrolls in this program is sponsored by an American employer. The maximum time of the stay is decided by the State Government and is based on the university schedules in each country.

Overview of the Work and Travel USA Program

Work
Usually, the candidates do not need to have qualifications or experience as the training will be provided as required at the workplace. The job types offered include cashiers, sales-people, hosts, cashiers, restaurants, staff in hotels, entertainment parks or restaurants.
Travel
Until the end of their exchange program, applicants can remain in the United States as specified on form DS-2019. Once the J-1 visitor’s program is completed, the applicant can remain in the United States for 30 days.
This is also referred to as the grace period which is provided so that the applicant gets prepared to depart from the country.
Agencies
Agencies are the representatives of the student candidates. The agencies are responsible for searching for vacancies with sponsors, organising the vacancies and preparing the necessary documents for participation.
